Termenul “ambedo” a apărut pentru prima oară în Dicționarul Durerilor Obscure, elaborat în jurul anului 2006, o colecție de cuvinte inventate de John Koenig al căror scop este de a numi emoții complexe care, până atunci, nu aveau o formă lingvistică; de a umple un gol în limbaj pentru a facilita exprimarea umană. În mod similar, inițial, lucrarea s-a conturat ca un efort de a articula modul în care se manifestă un sentiment pentru care nu găsisem, la momentul respectiv, termen.
În esență, ambedo se referă la experiența de a fi in viață, la transa în care sinele intim devine interconectat cu planul real. În același timp, acesta impune nu doar tendința de a reflecta, ci și de a asimila, aproape pierzându-ți temporar propria formă și fizicalitate, devenind o parte din detaliul senzorial ce a provocat transa. Reflecția respectivă nu are o concluzie, nu este o încercare de a explica sau de a înțelege, ci un act care există doar pentru că poate.

The term "ambedo" appeared for the first time in the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, elaborated around the year 2006, a collection of words invented by John Koenig whose goal was to name complex emotions that, until then, didn't have a linguistic form; to fill a hole in our speech in order to facilitate human expression. Similarly, initially, the work started as an endeavor to articulate the way in which a specific sentiment manifests; a sentiment for which, at the time, I hadn't found a term.
At its core, ambedo refers to the experience of being alive, to the trance in which your most intimate inner self becomes interconnected with the plane of reality. At the same time, it imposes not only the tendency to reflect but to assimilate, almost temporarily losing your own form and physicality, becoming a part of the sensory detail that caused the trance. The reflection doesn't reach a conclusion, it's not an attempt to explain or understand, but an act that takes place only because it can.
The exhibition invites you to bask and lose yourselves in ambedo, the more you keep looking.
